Title: Philly News (5-17-16)
Body:

Seems that ski season is over for me although A-Basin in Colorado had 11 inches this week on top of another foot they received while I was in New Orleans for Jazzfest - And they are getting another 6+ today.  Their winter continues while we beg for a sunny/warm day in Philly.  Missed the snow but did not miss Beiber when he was in town last weekend.  His show was more entertaining than Taylor Swift's but not very high on the overall scale.  He did have a solid production.  Also was able to catch Cirque du Soleil (Ovo) this past weekend which was actually very enjoable.  Also caught the Lebaneese Festival this past weekend at Saint Maron Church at 10th & Federal - my first time attending but they have been having it since the 70s.

Lots of real estate news coming as I saw last email.  In this one, I can announce two new listings for me.  1609 Fitzwater is a duplex in Graduate Hospital for $459,900 producing $2,800 a month in rental income.  The other is a large one bedroom condo by the Comcast buildings (20th and Arch) for $339,000.  Maybe you know someone looking?

And talking about different locations, I just read this one on medical marijuana and where growing facilities could be located.  The law has a long way to go but if one wants to play in the space, an investment of over $3 million would be needed.  This would involve getting through the application process and then if awarded a license to grow and dispense, plus buy the equipment and location lease.....need over $3 million to get it done.  Many people have already told me they are interested in being involved and I am putting together more information in order to possibly make a run at the licenses.  Think it is better to find a couple of people to invest the cash or better to get 60 people to invest an average of $50,000 each?

Back to real estate.  In Philadelphia, tax assessments are being sent out for 2017 already and they are going up for many people.  If you want to fight your assessed value, send me your address and I will give you an idea if you are being overcharged.

BTW, I have to throw this in there.  Can anyone believe how well the Phillies are playing this season?  If the season were to end today, we would make the last playoff spot.  Crazy surprising.  - Mark
