Surprise, suprise, surprise.  I know it has been over a month since my last mailing.  As always, lots going on - both fun and work.  Definitely have been busy and somewhat lazy.

Not sure which I should start with: Pope or Eagles.

Let's go with the Eagles. We all knew our weak link was going to be the offensive line and it has been deadly to our offense as we all have seen.  The defense has been much improved from last year which is where we focused on with adding depth to our secondary and linebackers.  It is a shame that Byron Maxwell has looked so poor so far.  I also have some questions about our defensive coordinator as it seems he makes some defensive calls that the offenses like to see.  It was nice to finally see Bradford throw downfield for the first time all season last Sunday.  Maybe he just does not have the time to let the plays develop or the WRs are not good enough to get open.  Certainly wish we could give Riley Cooper's salary to an offensive lineman.  Let's hope for good things on Sunday and fortunately the NFC East is so weak right now that we still have a decent chance of making the playoffs but certainly no parade this year on Broad Street (besides Mummers).

Pope...I stuck around to see all the hoopla.  Was very cool to have streets closed.  It is such a shame the city marketed it so poorly.  It could have been a 48 hour street festival with the bars/restaurants raging in the streets instead of scaring everyone out of town.  Certainly do not understand why we needed the PA National Guard on every corner out as far south as South Street or massive military vehichles in Rittenhouse Square.  On Friday night, there were even three police officers walking the beat out by 21st and Christian for what was the quietest night of the year since Christmas Eve.  Felt deserted.   The security to get in to the actual event area on the Parkway was worse than the airport.  They were using metal detectors at higher levels than the airport - my button on my shorts set off the metal detectors.  Led to a super slow and painful process as many people could not even get in to the security areas which is a shame.  And with all the security, I found it interesting that there was actually a murder that Thursday morning in the middle of center city

Besides making it to the Eagles home opener (ouch), I have been to some concerts (Lenny Kravitz, Van Halen, Madonna, Phish in Colorado where the public transit systems SUCK), had a fun day of Motocross while in CO, saw the latest show at Walnut Street Theatre, and I am sure I have been to some other places. :)

Something of interest to Fantasy people out there.  The league I started in 1986 during my first day in high school, is now in their 30th year.  Our local NJ paper wrote a story about the league.  I actually stopped Fantasy years back as I did not have the time to put towards it but there are still some originals in the league after 30 years.

I do have some real estate projects around town that I will be publicly talking about shortly.  If anyone wants to know the real estate sales data around your home, let me know and I can send you over the latest sales data for you.

Will be tailgating on Sunday in case you will be down and want to catch up.....Go Eagles.  - Mark
