Was hoping to get this out earlier today but it was one of those days when technology became my enemy. Everything seems to be better now though. :)
Happy new year to everyone. I spent my last four nights in NYC at MSG for Phish shows. Always fun to have NYC as a four day playground. Did make it back in time to celebrate Mummers Day. Spent some time on Broad Street, then McGillans (which ran out of beer?), and then down to Two Street (Bourbon Street style - see video). For those NFL fans out there, check out this video on a Phish song (Wilson) and the Seattle Seahawks - listen for it this weekend when watching the Seahawks game. And while on the topic of music, some sad news for me as this is one of my favorite bands - did you hear the Allman Brothers Band are disbanding? Article is here. For those looking for something to do Saturday night (1/11), there is a good New Orleans brass band playing in center city - let me know if you can make it.
Not having a great start to the ski season but did get in four days so far - all at Windham, NY - two post Christmas, two post new years. Did make it up for the last storm and had one of my best days skiing in NY ever. The snow was light and fluffy and the midweek crowds were nonexistent. We have two buses heading up to Stowe, VT over MLK weekend if anyone has the itch and wants to join in on some fun - might get some new snow next week up there too.
As a flyer, are you frustrated you do not have an AC power outlet at your seat? Well, Delta is changing that on their planes and I hope the indsutry follows.
Some good city news: There were 247 homicides in the city 2013, the lowest total since 1967
As always, please think about me if buying/selling a home in the greater Philly area. Been helping others since 2005.... - Mark

Free rehearsed readings in January!
Were you there when we read BOOTYCANDY? OUR CLASS? Vaclav Havel’s LEAVING? Sarah Ruhl’s IN THE NEXT ROOM? Here’s your chance to hear some of the hot contenders for next season and the future, read by some of Philadelphia’s finest actors as well as guests from New York and other cities.
You don’t know what you might discover when you come: it could be a potential world premiere, a classic, or anything in between. You could have a chance to meet the playwright! This year you’ll have a chance to experience some bold approaches to storytelling, questioning history, media attitudes to race and class, and even the nature of language itself, in dramatic and sometimes hysterical fashion.
And best of all, it’s free!
All readings start at 7:30pm on the following dates:
Monday, January 13, Monday, January 20, Monday, January 27, Monday, February 3 (and be on the alert for possible “pop-up” readings...like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter for updates)
