Missed last week's edition. Went up to Killington, VT for 2 days of great skiing - timed the storm so we had 18" of new snow to play in over the two days. Also was able to get to see some good music: Pink (photos) at Wells Fargo and New Orleans band Meter Men with Phish's Paige on keyboards at Union Transfer. UT has a great history and is Philly's best indoor venue and second best overall in Philly behind the Mann. Even capped off the live events at the Friday night NCAA session with a great game - seeing Georgetown getting upset. Thanks to the tile insurance guys at Land Services for hosting - alcohol sales at the Wells were not allowed during the NCAA games but the rule does not count if you are in a suite!
Phillies sports.....can you believe the Phillies made less than a $1 million last year? Anyone have extra opening day tickets? I do not have mine lined up yet. Saw this video about the status of Philly sports fans - a bit slow but worthwhile.
Also attended a very worthwhile nonprofit fundraiser last week - Urban Blazers. Check them out...they are always looking for volunteers and $$$$.

Anyone else get a new health insurance invoice? I read this article in the morning and then recived a new bill from Aetna telling me they are raising me from $350 a month tro $400. Ouch.

12) 8th Annual Philly Zombie Crawl

It’s that time of year again, folks. Time to spend more money than you’re comfortable disclosing—on liquid latex, gelatin, corn syrup, oatmeal or whatever you use—and spend more hours than you’re comfortable admitting to transform yourself into a zombie. It’s the Easter Philly Zombie Crawl, held in honor of history’s first recorded, uh, zombie, if you really think about it. The celebration of the undead takes place at the Theater of Living Arts and its surrounding areas at 6 p.m. They’ll even have on-hand artists to help you get your zombie face on, and prizes get awarded at 7:45 from the main stage.
There are five South Street Bars that’ll be participating, too, with drink specials and bar gimmicks. The TLA is promoting $5 Pabst Blue Ribbons and “Blood on the Rocks” mixed drinks, as well as hosting spin sessions from DJ Kiltboy and Dave Ghoul. Tattooed Mom has half-priced drafts from 5 to 7 p.m. and 10 to 11 p.m., with a gaggle of “zombie punk and metal” to serve as a musical backdrop. Manny Brown’s has $2.75 Miller High Life and Lager pints, plus zombie movies on their TVs. Lickety Split’s offering $3 “Brain eater shots” and a “request-friendly DJ.” Copabanana’s got $5 nachos, $5 Buds, $5 Jameson shots and will be playing the Dawn of the Dead remake from 2004.
