Body:

I need some work help.....does anyone know how to find out someone's social security number?  Trying to pay off some judgments on a property without personally knowing the person.  Only way I can do this is to have his SSN.

Not many events going on next week....must be time for holiday/company parties.  Reindeer Romp is always a fun night (#5).

Eagles are still alive (barely and unbelievably) but my hopes are with the Flyers right now.  Seems like Philly is back on the sports curse - Pronger is now out for the year.

I learned this week that I should never be given a drink in a martini glass.  Too hard to drink out of in a bar situation - need a real glass.  I think most men would agree.

A few weeks ago I mentioned how I am continuing to find new places in Philly after 10 years of living here.  Last night, I stumbled upon a very cool 100 year old playhouse, Plays & Players Theatre at 1714 Delancey Street.  Had no idea it was there. They actually have two theatres there - the main one is 250 seats with a balcony and the 2nd stange is 60 seats.  I caught the post intermission performance of This Is the Week That Was by 1812 Productions.

For those of you who are big Chickie and Pete's fans, I have been following this story recently.  Seems a little much by them or good business?

And I feel the need to mention how bad our Parking Authority is.  We all know those new parking ticket machines.  I buy the Smart Cards from them.  Problem is if you get down to $2 on a card and want to park for more than 45 minutes, you can not use the card.  It does not allow me to spend the money I have on the card and they pay cash or use another Smart Card.  So, now i carry two Smart Cards in my wallet, just hoping for the chance to only need $2 worth of parking time - which at 25 cents per 8 minutes, is not very long.  When asked about the issue, PPA tells me they know about it and are working on it - they did not think of the scenario when they rolled out the machines.  Thankfully they do not have any compettition because the engineers of the program were clearly not thinking.  Just my opinion of tax dollars (and parking fines) not spent well.

Lastly for those in Montco, I read these real estate stats that I thought I would share since people are always asking me what I think about the market:  516 units settled in Montgomery County in November 2011, a nearly 16% increase compared to November 2010. The average settled price of those units was $290,000.  Through November 2011, Montgomery County has settled 5,682 units at an average price of $309,000.  As always, please talk to me about your real estate needs.... - Mark

Chef-Partner Guillermo Pernot of Old City’s Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar (10 South 2nd Street, 215-627-0666) is thrilled to announce “Pop-up Paladares,â€Â a series of dinners named after Cuba’s popular restaurants often set inside a chef’s own home.  Pop-up Paladares will feature Havana’s most notable chefs with whom Chef Pernot cooked on the island during his recent trips and who will be cooking in the U.S. for the first time.

On Wednesday, January 11 through Friday, January 13, Chef Pernot will co-host the first Pop-up Paladar with Chef Luis Alberto Alfonso Perez of El Gijonés, Bar Oviedo, La Terraza and Asturias, his four popular paladares all located in the Asturian Federation of Cuba building on Paseo del Prado in Havana, Cuba.  Chef Perez, who is fondly known simply as Chef Lucio, has cooked for many visiting dignitaries and his innovative yet simple cuisine has helped transform the culinary landscape of the city.  For each night of Pop-up Paladares, there will be two seatings in La Galería, Cuba Libre’s private dining room, at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.  The four-course menu, a collaborative creative effort of the two chefs, will feature:  Crudo de Langosta, lobster salad, pineapple sorbet with truffle oil-infused black sesame seeds; Ravioles, eggplant-wrapped ravioli with lamb ropa vieja filling and a hierba buena infusion; Jabalí, baby wild boar rib chop with sour orange-canela compote and yuca tamal; and Flan de Queso, Pategras cheese flan with guaya coulis and confitted garlic.  Throughout the evening, both chefs will greet the guests as they enjoy the meal.  The dinner is $39 per person, excluding beverages, tax and gratuity.  Seating is limited.
