Body:

Philly sports has gotten so bad that I am left talking trash with a buddy from Seattle about Philly Union soccer.

I told everyone that our offense sucked all year....that when playoff time came, it would hurt us.  Read what I wrote back in June: http://www.markzwick.com/view_newsletter.asp?id=349.  I just do not understand how we can not hit with a manager that came to the big leagues as a hitting coach.  bunting people over, hitting to the opposite field, etc....just does not seem to be the way the Phillies play and we see the results (again).  I would like to see new a manager in town....

As for the Eagles, with a loss this week in Washington, it could free up our fall/winter to enjoy other acvtities on Sundays.  So many reasons it seems we keep losing.....worst turnover differential in the league, awful; red zone performance on both offense and defense, no linebacker play, missed tackles, no offense short yardage game, etc....

Seems like the Flyers are going to be as popular as ever this season with no basketball and no Eagles playoff hunt.....

I went to a concert this week at a very cool theatre in Montclair, NJ this week: http://www.wellmonttheatre.com.  Saw Trey from Phish.  I was embarrassed to wear anything that could have stirred up anything Philly related.  And it has nothing to do with some of our corrupt police department - this guy is so dumb....

For those in to club (techno) type music, there is a new place in town worth checking out: http://rumorphilly.com/.  They have been bringing in some big time DJs since opening a few weeks back.  Located at 15th and Sansom.

Last week I promised to get some photos of my most recent completed project online for you.  Here is a link.  House sold for $400k+.  As I keep mentioning, open to taking on investors if anyone has interest.  Minimum investment would be $25,000.  Lastly, as always, happy to help you buy or sell a home.....still have my Realtor license active.... - Mark

So this week, sample a variety of foods from around the city and jam out to some of the city’s emerging acts at the third annual Bloktoberfest. This year promises to be bigger and better with a wider selection of beer, more blocks and food and faster service. Area restaurants will offer their food curbside and Philadelphia’s food trucks will be on the scene. The Walkmen, Toy Soldiers, Paper Monster and Cozy Galaxies provide the soundtrack. The event is free to attend but a beer pass is required to drink—they’re available online or at the fest and passes include drink tickets. The more you drink, the more proceeds go to support students and various education initiatives in area schools. Win-win. -Brenda Hillegas
