Title: 30 Items (1-15-10) sponsored by HAIR O' THE DOG 2010
Body:

Had my first ever surgery this week.  I have a new respect for people who go under the knife.  Was surprisingly painful.  Percocet diet certainly helps.  I posted some photos on facebook.

Hair O The Dog is tomorrow night.  Typically, 1000+ in attendance.  Always a good time and very economical for a five hour open bar this year.  Discount codes ZWICKG gets $5 off GA and ZWICKV $10 off VIP. You can buy tickets here: http://hairothedog.eventbrite.com/?err=29

I am missing Lake Placid this weekend which bums me out but I am hoping to make it to Vail in FEB.  http://www.phillytrips.com/trip/132/

Let’s talk Eagles:  Dallas is just better.  We need lot of help with our linebackers, the loss of center at the end of the season was big, Westbrook coming back did not seem to help us, and how much did we miss Dawkins when it mattered?  Did you realize the Eagles  did not beat a single playoff team during the regular season nor did we beat a team with a winning record?

Did you know a Fresh Grocer just opened at 1501 N Broad?  Finally another supermarket near center city.
Read this editorial and thought it was interesting “PA’s Disgraceful Liquor Laws”.  http://www.philadelphiaweekly.com/news-and-opinion/PA-disgraceful-liquor-loaws.html.  There is a petition for those who want more beer access: http://freemybeer.com/petition.aspx

So this guy gets arrested and now can no longer view any porn for seven years.  Does anyone else think that it will only make this guy do worse things?
Ex-Drexel professor pleads guilty to possessing child porn: http://www.philly.com/philly/news/20100114_Ex-Drexel_professor_pleads_guilty_to_possessing_child_porn.html

Anyone know either of these two people:  (from WED) a woman in Southwest Center City was stabbed to death in her second floor apartment on the 900 block of South 16th Street. Ameya Spratley, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7 p.m. Keith Moore, 23, who lived with Spratley, has been arrested and charged with her murder, police said.

And lastly, rates are still low (but rumor has it they are going up).  First time federal home buyer credit extends through the end of April.  Who wants some help buying a home? - Mark

16) LAUREL HILL CEMETERY

Sunday January 17
An Old Cemetery in A New Year
There are cemeteries that creep the crap out of you when you explore them, giving you the vibe that a horde of evil undead is suddenly gonna burst through the ground and drag you down into the underworld. Then there's Laurel Hill Cemetery in East Falls, which, in the words of Glenn Frey, gives you that "peaceful, easy feeling." Sprawling and serene, the 78-acre cemetery is more than just the final resting place of thousands of Philadelphians, including many of the city's most historically significant figures. It's also full of gorgeous artwork, architecture and flowers, and--as generations of locals have discovered--it's one of the city's prime picnicking spots, where you can contemplate the meanings of life and death as you munch on a Wawa shorti. If you've never been, the annual "An Old Cemetery in A New Year: An Introduction to Laurel Hill" tour is a great, fascinating way to learn about the lovely grounds and some of its more famous inhabitants. Say hi to General George Meade, David Rittenhouse and Harry Kalas for us! M.A.G.
2pm. $15. Laurel Hill Cemetery, 3822 Ridge Ave. 215.228.8200. thelaurelhillcemetery.org
