Missed last week with the holiday so I have lots of thoughts to share including the official welcoming back the good folks at Philadelphia Sports Clubs. They are continuing their sponsorship which is great. You can now join for $20.10 initiation: http://www.mysportsclubs.com/deals/current/Join_for_2010_and_Rest_of_Year_FREE.htm?WT.ac=MAIN_Home_QL_03_Join_Now_for_2010
Philly now has a new piano bar that has been nicely crowded when I have been by: http://www.jollyspianobar.com/ Saw my first basketball game at the Palestra. Delaware (my alma mater) beat Penn in double OT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestra Saw four Phish shows -2 in Philly and 2 at MSG. MSG stops selling beer at intermission.
Is anyone heading to Miami for new years?
One of our local chefs won Iron Chef: http://www.philly.com/philly/entertainment/20091123_Garces_cooks_up_an__Iron_Chef__title.html I had my first Eagles win of the season (1-2) against the Redskins.
Returned to Zee Bar for the first time in a long while. They have two rooms with the smaller one (UFORIA) playing house/techno the night I was there. www.zeebar.com A friend DJ Nigel Richards will be making an appearance at Zee Bar’s UFORIA room on Saturday (12/5).
Although no skiing yet on the east coast, Whistler has gotten 18 feet already this season. So, think about coming to Vail and Lake Placid. Each trip has at least 30 people already signed up. www.PhillyTrips.com. And if you think you have some midweek flexibility to get on to a mountain this winter, please let me know as I am always looking for people to travel with.
If you have flexibility in your Friday lunch hours, this is a great free weekly event: http://www.xpn.org/wxpn-concerts-events-calendar/free-at-noon I have been able to get a few recent shows in (including today: Government Mule). If you know of anyone looking for a sales job in the energy efficient lighting world, please send me their information as I know of an interesting opportunity.
And lastly, Mortgage rates are breaking records again: 15-year, 30-year fixed-rate loans at all-time lows. You did not read that incorrectly. That was the headline from an article I read yesterday. Add that with the $8000 tax credit and many desperate sellers and there is a real buying opportunity. Email me if you would like to discuss buying or selling a home….I would appreciate the realtor business of yours and your friends. - Mark

There are some unique twists to the game that make it a little rowdy, a little raunchy, and a lot of fun! Don’t be shy and prepare to scream, curse, and get a little wild!! We guarantee some good, clean…ok, more like dirty…fun. There will be many prizes given out all night long…and no, we’re not talking a Barnes and Noble gift card…these are of an, ummm, let’s say more “adult nature”. Yes, some of them require batteries. Think vibrating bunnies… At each bingo event, there will be food and drink specials and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity. If you have a charity that is special to you, drop us a note and we’ll try to include it.
