Title: 32 Items (10-2-09) sponsored by AMERICAN MALE SALONS
Body:

Sorry for so many emails this week.  I think it is the most I have ever sent in all my years of doing the newsletter.

Big weekend on hand: Saturday is a fun afternoon at the Midtown Fall Festival.  It is a BYOB if you have interest (drink in cups).  And then you can head over to McToberfest if interested. http://www.mcfaddensphilly.com/

Sunday is one of my favorite afternoons: Sippin By The River. http://www.sippinbytheriver.com/  Day, outdoor drinking – one of my favorite activities.   And if anyone has interest in mountain biking tomorrow (SAT) morning in the Wissihickan, please email me this afternoon as I am meeting a buddy out for a morning ride.  Weather should be warming up for the weekend festivities.

Phils clinch our 3rd straight NL East.  Eagles gets a W with Kolb.  Could be a good fall for Philly sports.  And did you know last night had the first NHL regular season game of the season?  Flyers have youth on their side this year which hopefully will be fun to watch.  Can not even think of basketball at this point.

If you have interest in an upcoming wine (Oct 17-18)or ski trips: http://www.phillytrips.com/upcoming_trips.asp

A few open bars - free - listed below.  It seems one can drink for free at least one night a week in Philly.

For those thinking about buying a home, the federal tax credit has not YET been extended.  You can read up on it at http://www.federalhousingtaxcredit.com/2009/index.html
And for those thinking about buying, check out the mortgage rates.  I just read this today: 30-Year Fixed-Rate Mortgage Lowest in Four Months, Nearing All-Time Low Set in Survey in March
Freddie Mac today released the results of its Primary Mortgage Market Survey (PMMS) in which the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) averaged 4.94 percent with an average 0.7 point for the week ending October 1, 2009, down from last week when it averaged 5.04 percent. Last year at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 6.10 percent. The last time the 30-year FRM was below 5 percent was the week ending May 28, 2009, when it averaged 4.91 percent.

So, if thinking of buying or selling a home…..please talk to me about it. - Mark

The music is a wonderful accompaniment to an already stellar menu. The musical sets are interspersed between a five-course tapas style menu, the evening is definitely a one-of-a-kind event.

I entered Steve and myself in the 106.1 win a wedding contest. If we win, we get a free wedding, this October 16th. A little nuts, but a free wedding sounds pretty good to both of us.
Since I didn't even realize we were finalists until an hour ago, we are in an embarrassing last place. (I don't know who those random 5 people are that voted for us already, but I would like to thank them!)
You have until October 4th to vote. Click on the above link and follow the instructions. We are couple number 4 out of 12. Scroll through all the couples to vote at the end.
Thanks for helping us not go broke paying for a wedding!

26) DANCE STUFF

Thank you, Gregory
Tuesday October 6
With the glut of celebrity dance shows, it’s evident that the jitterbug’s taken a chomp out of Hollywood. Every former child star and their estranged mother is itching to hoof it for an adoring audience. These days, real triple threats are few and far between. But there was once a time when the brightest stars of stage and screen had all the right moves. Twinkle-toed wunderkinds like Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly topped the bill. Check out the local premiere of “Thank You, Gregory,” a dance tribute to the legends of classy, percussive footwork, including the late, great tap dancing icon, Gregory Hines. Shuffle, don’t walk, to the Annenberg for this, the start off its 28th season. Paul F. Montgomery
7:30pm. $38-$58. Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, 3680 Walnut St. 215.898.6701. annenbergcenter.org

29) WEEKLY WED NIGHT DANCE PARTY

A few of us noticed a mysterious lack of dancing options for Wednesday night. Every other night is locked down by one or more quality events, but Wednesday? What gives? (Forgive us if we missed a dance-friendly event you do .... no offense intended!)
That said, Sundae/4AM, Robotique and Drumsong decided to take matters into their (our) own hands and make something happen.
Every Wednesday, beginning THIS COMING Wednesday, jam out with us to house, disco, boogie, techy stuff... basically, quality dance music from quality DJ's who have been at it for a while. Call it Philly Boogie.
Better yet, this party will always be free, will alway rock til 2 and will always leave you hungover on Thursday morning. What could be better?
Join Billy W, Sean Thomas and DJ Dirty for the launch party this week.
