Title: 26 Items (8-21-09) sponsored by FASHION FOR A FIGHT

My shore house in Avalon is hosting Bobblespalooza tomorrow (Sat, 8/22).  50 kegs, DJ, dance floor, 3 backyards on the bay.  It is an MS fundraiser, so if you are coming, be prepared to make a donation. Last year this party raised over $6,000 for MS.  2808 Ocean Drive.  Come by foot, bike, or water vessel.

This past week, I increased my Phillies record to 4-7, saw Phish up at Saratoga Springs, NY, spent some time with my parents in Windham, NY.  And yes, I worked this week too…. For those that do not know, I am a licensed realtor and full time real estate investor.

Still not sure of the answer to the 10% beer tax question from last week.  I got a bunch of responses including from some people in the industry and I am still not sure of the answer.  I think I have someone who can get us the official answer.  And no one responded to me about the Preakness.  Did no one on this list go this past year?

Also, I did not comment on the Vick signing.  I am ok with it.  Can not imagine people wearing a Vick jersey though….and speaking of dogs, I just learned that Positano Coast is now dog friendly. http://www.lambertis.com/locations/positano.htm

Sunday, August 23, 12-6 pm
The Rotunda, 4014 Walnut Street

Citizens for a No-Kill Philadelphia (CNKP) is hosting the first animal welfare “Crafts for a Cause” event in Philadelphia to raise money for the growing movement to make Philadelphia a “No-Kill City.” (“No-Kill” is commonly defined as a community where all healthy and treatable animals in shelters are saved. Currently 12,000 adoptable dogs and cats die each year in Philadelphia shelters.)

CNKP has been high profile this summer collecting signatures for its petition to City Council to enact a law that will stop the killing of cats and dogs as a means of population control. The group currently has more than 6,000 signatures. “Crafts for a Cause” will be another opportunity for the group to raise awareness for its cause.

“The location for ‘Crafts for a Cause’ is fitting,” notes CNKP Founder and President Garrett Elwood. “The Rotunda is a West Philadelphia community-gathering place where art is viewed as a catalyst for social change. CNKP also is trying to make profound change. We are a group of taxpayers and pet lovers who are committed to working with City Hall to solve the problem of overcrowding in our shelters without killing.”
