Title: 34 Items (7-31-09) sponsored by Young Professionals After-Work Happy Hour at Chima
Body:

My summer has been much busier with work than I expected.  I guess it is a good thing but it is taking way too much out of me.

Has anyone else had a bad sleep schedule this week due to the Phillies being on the west coast?
Beer at the Elton John/Billy Joel concert was $8.50 for a 12 ounce Miller Lite.  Crazy, no?
Philly made lots of sports news this week.  RIP Jim Johnson and welcome to Philly Cliff Lee.   And for those keeping track, I am now 3-6 at home games this season.

Anyone have interest in an existing in operating a restaurant in Queen Village?  Comes with a liquor license.  And does anyone know of a good space to open a bar in Graduate Hospital?

I have mentioned our homeless issues in the city before.  Here is an interesting idea:  http://www.philly.com/philly/wires/ap/news/nation_world/51948522.html

Enjoy your August.  Please keep me in mind if you are thinking of buying or selling a home in PA, NJ, or DE.  - Mark

10)  DOGGIES NEED A HOME

We are moving overseas in just 2 weeks. Unfortunately, I have still not been able to find a good home for Cookie and Coco . We're not able to take our beloved doggies with us and I've been desperately trying to find a home for both of them 'together'. They were raised together and pine without each other. The Lab rescue have already said that they would probably separate them, so this is my last resort. Recently I tried to take Coco out in my car alone and she TOTALLY refused to even get into the car without Cookie.....! !!! She absolutely pulled back on her haunches until Cookie was by her side.

Both doggies are in great health, have been spayed and have ID chips implanted under the skin.

Cookie turned 3 December 10th and Coco turned 3 April 1st. Cookie is my mellow-yellow, and just loves her tummy rubbed. Coco is adorably
funny and lives for her "ball." She also loves the water...... Cookie loves lots of attention. Both doggies are loyal and love to walk.
They have been raised with my 3 kids running around all over the place, and have survived Sammy's constant hugging and love of
'dress-up', so they are fantastic family dogs. This is by far one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make, but under the
circumstances I have no choice.

I pray that someone, somewhere can help us keep Cookie and Coco together, and love them just as much as we do. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. kjmorris74@yahoo. com

In the end, we learn that love is stronger than all bonds, and that there is truly “No Day But Today.”

30) LE BEC FIN WINE DINNER

August 4th Wine Dinner at Le Bec-Fin
Le Bec-Fin is keeping up the grand tradition of wine dinners on the first Tuesday of every month at 7pm. Their next one is on Tuesday, August 4th, followed by September 1st!

This August 4th wine dinner will be hosted by wine importer, Mr. Ed Addis, of Wine traditions. Chef Proprietor and Executive Chef Nicholas Elmi will prepare a 4 course dinner paired with the wine.  The first wine is a dry rose with bright red fruits and a balanced acidity. Next is a pinot noir with a medium body and a smoke filled cooked cherry finish. Then they picked a Rhone syrah blend which is spicy and filled with concentrated fruit flavors. Medium to full bodied. Lastly is the sweet wine. It is a product of Botrytis and has a distinct dried stone fruit flavor and long finish similar to Sauternes.

Montgomery County continues population growth trend
The population in Montgomery County grew by an estimated 3,000 to 778,048 during a one-year period, according to a July 1, 2008 U.S. Census Bureau survey. Since the 2000 census, the county population has increased by about 20,000, or 3.9 percent. Of the 62 municipalities in the county, several have grown at a greater pace than the rest: Upper Hanover with a 5.2 percent growth; New Hanover with a 3.7 percent growth; Upper Gwynedd with a 2.4 percent growth; and Upper Providence with a 2.2 percent growth. Montgomery County remains the third largest in Pennsylvania, behind Philadelphia and Allegheny counties. A census count shows the Southeastern portion of Pennsylvania has grown faster than any other region of the state.
