Title: 27 Items (7-22-09) sponsored by 7th Annual Mid Summer Singles Party

Need some bachelor party advice.  Friday night went to AC to scope places for a buddy’s bachelor party.  We swung by the Pool at Harrahs, Dusk at Caesars, and Chelsea.  We left the Pool early to check out the other places.  Anyone know how the scene gets on a Friday night?

I am looking for a cash partner for some rental property investments.    Know anyone?

About to book air for the Phillies in Chicago.  August 11-13.  Anyone have interest in heading out?  I like the Pedro signing for $1 million.  Do not see that we have much to lose. And the cheapest seat for a game the other night was $21.  At least the money is invested back in to the team.

Spectrum is having its last shows with Bruce and Pearl Jam: http://pollstar.com/resultsVenue.aspx?ID=21698&SortBy=Date&SearchBy=the%20spectrum
Check out what the vision is for when they knock it down.  Will be cool to have a place like this before and after games. Click on the PHILLY LIVE link on the left.  And http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/changing-skyline/Developer_unveils_100M_plan_for_Spectrum_land.html.  And bike paths are coming to center city: http://www.innovationphiladelphia.com/news/news_detail.aspx?nid=444

Saw (on TV) Jack Nicholson at the Phillies Monday night.  This is an interesting article about the film industry in Philly/PA: http://philadelphia.bizjournals.com/philadelphia/stories/2009/06/22/focus7.html

And lastly, I saw new construction with 3 beds and 3 baths with parking in Graduate Hospital for only $275,000. Crazy low.  Email me if interested.  And for still thinking of taking advantage of the government tax incentive while interest rates are hovering near 5%, remember the program is a direct credit from the government (not a tax deduction) of up to $8,000 and settlement needs to take place before November 30, 2009. BTW, according to the National association of Realtors, the housing inventory peaked in November 2008 at an 11-month supply. At the end of May 2009, it had fallen to a 9.6-month supply.  Always happy to help you buy or sell your home.... - Mark

As many of you know, I’m helping to found a new non-profit writing center for kids in Philadelphia. We’re just starting our fundraising efforts, but are already offering fun (and free!) writing workshops around the city in borrowed spaces like bookstores and community centers.  This fall we’ll be working with local schools to set up continuing programs like newspapers and offering professional development opportunities for teachers. Once we can afford to open our permanent writing center, we’ll even be offering wacky class field trips that will help inspire kids to find a love of writing and develop their skills.

HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP: We’re currently in the running for a $10,000 prize on the ideablob website, and ALL WE NEED IS YOUR VOTE!  Please click on the link and vote for our program between now and July 21.

If you’d like to learn more about us, feel free to visit our website at http://phillyspells.org or email Liz Encarnacion at lizencarn@gmail.com

6) Support Prostate Cancer Research

With the recent loss of Gary Papa, beloved ABC sportscaster, issues surrounding prostate cancer have been brought to the forefront and people in Philadelphia are wondering how they can help.  A local triathlete, Jay Gantz, whose father is also terminally ill with prostate cancer has decided to raise funds and support for prostate cancer research by racing two Ironman triathlons in one month – Ironman Lake Placid and Ironman Louisville.  Each race consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run, and will take anywhere from 11 to 16 hours to complete.

He is looking for supporters to sponsor him by donating $28.12, just ten cents for each mile raced, to his Athletes for a Cure fund.  Athletes for a cure is the athletic fundraising and awareness arm of the Prostate Cancer Foundation.  All proceeds from Athletes for a Cure go directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.  http://www.tiny.cc/AFAC

Supporters of Jay can track his progress live, at http://ironman.com/events/ironman/lakeplacid?show=tracker

It’s a beautiful complex, brick townhouses not high-rises, with a 24-hour fitness center that cost 25$ for the year, access to a massive community pool and a few feet out the door a Kelly-drive-esque place to run, walk or hangout next to the river. The apartment is a two-bedroom with hardwood floors, updated kitchen with a dishwasher, stove, microwave & refrigerator. There is also a washer & dryer in the apartment. The living room and kitchen has an open layout, which makes the apartment look much bigger. Hot/cold water and heat is included. Haddon ave. is only 3 blocks away with fun BYO's and trendy boutiques. Any questions, please contact jessieneff@gmail.com.

$700/month - 1 Room for Rent in NEW Townhouse - West Chester / Glen Mills
I am a 30 yo female looking for a roommate for my 3 bedroom 2.5 bath townhouse in the West Chester area. I am open to making the third bedroom an office or 2nd TV room.  The house is only 1 year old and it's absolutely gorgeous.  Granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, your OWN BATHROOM, and large living space to watch HD movies on the 52 inch flat screen TV. Fireplace, large closets, plenty of storage in the basement, off street parking, and close to all major highways.  Route 1, Route 3, 95, 476.  I'm looking for a friendly, non-smoker, neat/clean roommate who is responsible but also likes to have fun and is easy going.  I'm very active, love to hike and run in Ridley Creek park and I am on the go a lot.  I go into the city or into West Chester for dinner and meeting up with friends regularly.  I do have a small dog, she is very friendly, does not shed, and rarely barks.  I am open to someone with a small dog but would have to meet first.  The area is beautiful, it is very country-like with a farmer's market less than a mile away, but at the same time it's only 35 minutes to Philly.  There are train stations nearby if you need to commute to the city.  $700 a month includes all utilities - central air, cable, HBO, wireless internet.  Room is furnished but I can move it out if you need me to.  Please email me at blynfrey@gmail.com if you are interested.

Lobster and Uno are brothers.  They are about 5 months old, have all of their shots and will just need to be altered.  They are thought to be "fox hound" mixes.  They will be medium size dogs.  Please cross post for me.... They have lots of energy, they are 90% housetrained.  khanna517@earthlink.net
