Title: 19 Items (9-5-08) sponsored by The Green Legion VIP Card
Body:

Weather held true through Labor Day with some more great weather.  With summer coming to an end, there is some rain coming on Saturday as we all know.  But you might not know that Saturday’s Soap Box Derby is on rain or shine: http://www.redbullsoapboxusa.com/Philadelphia-2008/Red_Bull_Soapbox_Race_Philadelphia8.pdf.  I think this could be one of those fun day drinking days in Manayunk so put on your rain gear and head to the event.

A few weeks ago, I invited you all to our party in Avalon.  I found some photos to share: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jmccoy73/sets/72157606950328696/
And (needs a user id) http://www.avalon-nj.com/anj/Photos/2008images/bayofpigs/index_4.htm.  And did you hear about the medical waste coming up on shore? http://cbs3.com/local/avalon.beach.medical.2.810020.html

Eagles are Sunday.  For those that like to tailgate at the stadium and watch the game at McFaddens by the ballpark, check out this week’s sponsor (Green Legion).  Much better than waiting in line and paying the cover each week.

For those looking for a wedding venue in the area, check out Knowlton Mansion in the Northeast. http://www.conroycatering.com/docs/knowlton.html   I attended a wedding there last week and found the history of the place to be very cool.  Not sure of their seating capacity but it is not a large venue.

For those that care, the show is back on Sunday: http://www.hbo.com/entourage/
And a general FYI: Barrister’s Bar and Grille locted at 1823 Sansom Street is now Cavanaugh's Rittenhouse.

Lastly, I wanted to give out a special thanks to my friends at PW for giving me four great WED nights in Rittenhouse Park. For those that did not take my advice and make it to the concert series, you missed some very fun nights. http://www.philadelphiaweekly.com

As always, I ask that you talk to me if you are thinking of buying or selling a home in the Greater Philadelphia Metro area.  I have been practicing for more than three years and would like the opportunity to earn your business. - Mark

In addition, we have 25 team members dedicated specifically to the Urban Blazers/Marathon de Sables (UB/MdS) fundraising series.

10) GRAND CAYMAN RENTAL

Plantation Village Beach Resort on 7 Mile Island, Grand Cayman
Feb 7, 2009-Feb 14, 2009
Ocean view condo with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms.

Plantation Village is a timeshare located on 7 mile beach. The complex is in two parts, one back from the beach surrounding a beautiful large landscaped pool. It has ocean access but no ocean view.  The unit comfortably sleeps up to 8 people. You will be less than 100 yards from the Marriott where a single ocean front room for the same period is listed for $466 per day. There is an ocean front pool, snorkeling directly off the beach,  Georgetown is a 20 minute walk.

One of the reasons why seven mile beach is so popular is that the ocean water is nearly always calm. This is not true for most of the other timeshare resorts on the Island. Another reason for 7 Mile Beach's popularity is that there are many restaurants, malls etc. in the area. Some of the other timeshare resorts are very isolated.

13) Mike Horrocks Memorial Reunion

When: September 12, 2008 - 6:00pm
Where: Downtown Marriot, Philadelphia, PA

Dear Alumni & Friends,
We would like you to join us in honoring and remembering our teammate and friend, Michael Horrocks. As
you may remember, Mike played Quarterback at West Chester between 1981 and 1984. In his first ever start in
1983, he led the team to a historical upset over then 35-point favorite Delaware University. Upon his
graduation from West Chester University, Mike entered the Marine Corps and was commissioned a first
lieutenant. He was honorably discharged after serving his country and shortly thereafter, he joined United
Airlines. On September 11, 2001, he was the flight officer on Flight 175 --the second aircraft to crash into the
twin towers. There isn’t anyone who could ever forget that moment; and it was unimaginable to think that
nearly 3,000 innocent people would also perish on that very day.
On September 12, 2008 – seven years and one day after the tragedy of September 11, 2001 – teammates,
alumni, Marines comrades, United Airlines crewmembers and colleagues, friends and family of Michael
Horrocks will all be gathering to posthumously honor him. Former players John Mininno, Tom Schafer, Bruce
Blake, Al DePippo, Al Nimela and others have organized the effort. The goal is to create an endowed football
scholarship for Mike at West Chester University and a permanent memorial plaque at Farrell Stadium.

On behalf of your fellow teammates and alumni, we are extending an invitation to you to attend this memorial
and contribute to the scholarship fund. The Philadelphia Downtown Marriot has provided special discount rates
for rooms under the name "The Horrocks Memorial." The reservation number is Call-215-625-2900 or 800-228-
9290. The rate is only $129 for the night. Please RSVP by mailing the below form to West Chester University
Athletics, Sturzebecker HSC, West Chester, PA 19383. Please contact Keri Haibach at 610-436-2557 with any
questions.
Sincerely,
John Mininno Tom Schafer
