Title: 16 Items (8-8-08) sponsored by The Green Legion
Body:

I attended my first (and maybe last) Nascar race on Sunday at Pocono Raceway.  The good folks at Coors Light and Philly2Night.com floated the bill.  Free transportation, tickets, beer, and food – too good to pass up.  Had a fun day but Nascar is boring.  If I go back, I would need a radio at a minimum to listen to the play-by-play and/or scanner to listen to the drivers to their crew chief.  Without those two items, the people in the stands have no idea what is going on with the strategy of the drivers or know who had a bad pit stop.  With all the people in the stands, I would say about 10-20% had them.  What the other 80% were doing there I just do not understand – there are better and cheaper places to drink beer.   You can see some of my experience at http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=JgInWfElSRA

For those in Avalon on Saturday (tomorrow), my house is having a gathering in the late afternoon in honor of a few bday boys.  2808 Ocean.  We will have a few kegs. The house is on the bay and we get great sunsets…

Real Estate market has slowed some for sure but Philly is still holding up reasonably well with prices.  Interest rates have risen somewhat lately and there is lots of good inventory on the market for those looking to buy.  The places that are priced properly are still selling fairly quickly.  This week, the federal government just signed a new housing bill that provides a tax credit for some people up to $7500.  I included some information on it below (item #5).  As always, I ask that if you are thinking of buying or selling a home, to please talk to me about it before making any decisions. – Mark
